Drawings

The drawings I have made are images that describe a stream of consciousness of women from the 1940”s. Ironically, women portrayed themselves by using cigarettes which are hazardous to health, yet were considered powerful and attractive. Flying crows surround the portraits navigating an energy, illusion, and disillusionment of how the woman actually perceives herself. The crows transform the cigarette symbol and navigate around the image, creating a mystifying aura of uncertainty. Other connective drawings illustrate a transformation of this consciousness by the abscence of the birds, adding a deeper awareness.
